Our team helped Commercial Oils Ltd with LED efficient lighting Installation work, in Buckie.
The SR Electrical team received a call-out from Commercial Oils Limited, due to a fault with their lighting in their lubricant warehouse. Since winter is near, and lighting will be required more by their staff since they work longer hours during the winter period - they thought it best to get their lighting issues fixed. When we got onsite, the repairs required were costly, due to the requirement of rewiring their original 1960's light fittings. Lights such as these are expensive to run, and are not very efficient - with poor lamination readings that do not comply to the minimum lighting levels required.
Work Completed:
We designed a suitable lighting layout for the warehouse, to illuminate the rows between racking and storage with the correct lamination lux level required for the environment of the installation. We designed the installation to provide cost savings on the total electricity used onsite by 70% which is better for the environment, and provides instant lighting. We installed LED Twin Non-Cordable light fittings with PVC conduit and galvanised trunking, to contain cabling, light fittings, and emergency lighting.
We needed to consider the time of works to be carried out onsite, as the business required to still be in production and working whilst the project was carried out and lighting needed to be installed before winter starts. We had two weeks from the call-out to design, gain approval, purchase, and install the lighting from start to finish.
