We have recently undertaken a rectification project for a hazardous area in Sudbury.

Our team were asked to rectify all electrical defects on equipment and systems in hazardous areas at an operational bulk storage depot in Sudbury. This was compiled from the hazardous area detailed inspection report which we issued previously.

The solution included installing a new, 12" medium duty flange cable tray around the tank bund, and into a tank farm. New XLPE/SWAPVC cables were also installed to both bottom loading skids, the tank gauging system, high-level alarm system, sump pump for the tank bund, and the drip tray pump motor. All external control panels were moved to a dedicated safe area, and a new 12way triple pole and neutral MCB board were installed - as well as 2 N° bottom loading skid panels being made and wired for all control cables.

Due to the poor condition of the existing mains switchgear, the team installed a new GRP switch room. A brand new static earthing system was installed for the fuel storage tanks in the loading and offloading areas too.

The site now has a satisfactory and safe hazardous area installation.
