ATEX Certified Hazardous Area Lighting and Emergency Lighting

Our team helped a business in the food industry improve the lighting in their hazardous areas with the supply and installation of fully compliant, ATEX certified fittings.

The works took place in a vitamin production area and all elements of the installation were carried out to comply with relevant safety regulations such as BS EN 5226-1:2016 and BS EN 1838:2013.

This project included the supply and install of the following:

• 6 No 4ft, 49-watt LED, zone 1 ATEX certified non-emergency lighting fittings 
• 4 No 4ft, 49-watt LED, zone 1 ATEX certified emergency lighting fittings
• 4 No 2ft, 24-watt LED, zone 1 ATEX certified non-emergency lighting fittings 
• 1 No 2ft, 24-watt LED, zone 1 ATEX certified non-emergency lighting fittings
• 1 No Exit Box, zone 1 ATEX certified 24-watt LED bulkhead lighting fittings
• Hawke deluge and barrier glands for zoning and cable lengths on site
• Fully compliant XLPE/SWA/LSF cable
• ATEX certified sealant for cable routing
• A 1 No safe area, weatherproof light switch

The works were completed within 2 weeks, with measures taken to ensure the business was ready to efficiently restart operations once the work was completed.
